Exercise 1: Quantify & Visualize Data
Exercise 2: L.A.T.C.H

INSTRUCTIONS (MIB)

EXERCISE 1: QUANTIFY & VISUALIZE DATA

Figure 1.3: Exercise 1 submission
For this exercise, I arranged paper stars according to their colours & texture. I use total 4 colours (red, pink, silver, green) & 2 textures (matte & glossy) of paper stars.

EXERCISE 2: L.A.T.C.H

Since I am not familiar with any given topics in the assignment brief slides, I chose an open-world indie game that I am familiar with, Sky: Children of the Light as my L.A.T.C.H topic.
Figure 1.4: About "Sky: Children of the Light"

Figure 1.5: Progress on Illustrator
Since it is an open-world game, there are many maps to explore in the game. I chose one of my favourite maps from the game, which is called "Sanctuary Islands", a beautiful place consisting of both green & blue nature. I referred to some game screenshots to illustrate the islands.

Figure 1.6: Exercise 2 submission
The main gameplay is to find the emotes from each different area, and upgrade the emotes in certain levels to unlock items, the unlockable items are usually cosmetics that players can dress up themselves with. Besides that, players can also collect "winged light" from different areas, which is an item that can increase players' levels. I used all the knowledge I gained from the game to sort the elements according to L.A.T.C.H principles.

REFLECTION

Exercise 1: This is quite an interesting task to do as it's been a long time since I do an assignment physically using actual paper and pen, I've been getting too used to using digital software, so it feels a bit odd to touch paper and pen again. To be honest, now I feel that I should do better than that because I was focused on the data, but sort of losing the overall aesthetic.

Exercise 2: It feels nice to do an exercise based on my interest, which is the game I like. I am glad that we are allowed to choose whatever topics because I think it will be difficult if the topic is not something that I feel relatable to. When I first see the L.A.T.C.H principles, I immediately thought of this game, because the game principles perfectly match the L.A.T.C.H principles. But for this exercise, I actually already simplified and rephrase some of the game details in the poster, because the original details will be a bit complicated for viewers to understand, especially for those who never play the game before.
