FINAL PROJECT: BURNOUT ANIMATION
(*for some unknown reason I got copyright issue for posting vids on this blog, so I will be posting links instead of vids)
Before heading into the planning of burnout animation, our group did some research about burnout.

We then distribute the tasks by parts in a spreadsheet, link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-kYNwpG3U4x4wWRSMVd0ekBJyk-AtjUgkQ5u5bOyw1g/edit?usp=sharing
We had a meeting to discuss the art direction of animation and listed down our ideas on miro board.
For art styles, we decided to go for something that is simple, which is minimalistic vector art, because we can easily access free assets with this kind of art style on the internet.

Illustration
After finishing the animatic and getting approval from Mr. Martin, our group starts proceeding into the digitalised illustration. For the character illustration, the character head is illustrated by Sarah. While for the character body, we are using the free assets from freepik, combining the head and body together.
Figure 1.7 is the characters that we are going to use in our final animation, Sarah & Jia En uploaded the character assets on google drive for the rest of us to download.
After the character design is all finalised, we all start working on our own assigned part. I did the illustration by referring to my own animatic, following screen by screen.

REFLECTION
I am glad to have a bunch of groupmates who all did the assigned work responsibly, which makes the process smooth and easy. Throughout this project, I was lucky enough to receive some help from other groupmates, as I was off to Japan study trip for a week, while some of them were working on the character designs for making the characters in the whole video able to look united. When doing the animation on AE, I also discover some techniques from exploring by myself and watching some youtube tutorials. It is a great experience for me to be able to upgrade my skills in using AE, which helps me for my future projects, as AE is one of the most used designer software other than AI and PS.
