Exercise 1: Audio Dubbing

Figure 1.1: Doing audio planning on spreadsheet
I listed out the scene contents and dialogue, and then found the suitable sound to input in the scenes, I searched and downloaded the sounds from the website https://freesound.org/

Figure 1.2: Self-recorded dialogues
As there are some dialogues in the clip, I recorded the lines on my phone.

Figure 1.3: Arranging downloaded and self-recorded dialogues on Premiere Pro
As the footsteps sound from online sources aren't perfectly match the footsteps in the video clip, I tried to adjust the speed/duration of the sounds until they match the scenes.

Figure 1.3: Adjust the sounds
As the sounds are either in a bigger volume or smaller volume, I adjusted them to make them sound balanced. For my recorded dialogue,

Figure 1.4: Using audio presets
In the audio section of Adobe Premiere, I noticed that they are many useful presets that can be used, for example the phonecall effect, which is suitable to apply to the scene where the dialogue came from the telephone.

REFLECTION

Audio dubbing: As this is my first experience of using Premiere Pro, initially the interface was quite confusing, but as I slowly became familiar with it, I think that Premiere Pro's user-friendly interface and intuitive controls allowed me to sync the audio seamlessly with the video footage. I found the timeline layout to be particularly helpful in organizing and arranging the different audio clips.

One of the challenges I faced during the audio dubbing process was ensuring that the sound effects and dialogue were in sync with the visuals in the video clip, such as adjusting the footsteps. The software's comprehensive audio effects presets also enabled me to enhance the overall quality of the audio, further immersing the scene.

Sound shaping: It is a very interesting and easy exercise, imagine an atmosphere and adjust the sound to fit the certain atmosphere.
