3. Logo design

Figure 2.4: Attempts
From the feedback given by peers and lecturer, I decided to stick with the idea of designing an emblem, playing with typewriter typeface and Art Deco typeface. The side profile silhouette designs somehow don't really give off the nostalgic feel of the brand identity, so I decided to proceed with the clock design (bottom right corner).

- the arrow should be anticlockwise
- the M eye + brand name under might work
- explore emblem design

Week 6:
- reverse: put a black square behind it
- rationalization: emphasize how u build the proportion
- clear space: use letter T
- strapline: make the font size smaller
- brandmark and wordmark need to have clear space and min size
- colour: indicate primary secondary and hex code
- pattern: use the min of the clock and create some patterns. Make sure the pattern relates to the brand itself

REFLECTION

I learned a lot of rules and mechanisms for designing a logo, and I realised there are many things that need to be considered when it comes to designing logo, such as clear spaces, min size, etc. The process of sketching the logos has not been easy for me, as I initially limited the ideas, which is why the outcomes were not well. But as the class proceeded, I got valuable feedback from lecturer and peers, and also learned from peers' works, which enabled me to make improvements.
